An exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of Eryk Lipiński's death
ERYK & ZUZANNA is an exhibition unlike any other. Some 50 years ago Zuzanna's father Eryk, a renowned Polish satirical cartoonist, illustrator and poster-maker, started a collection for his "darling daughter" of cartoons made especially for her by the great and famous on the international cartoon scene. Over a period of more than 30 years Eryk's Albums became an impressive collection of drawings by Polish and international cartoonists, of which this Exhibition shows only a fraction. The Exhibition is also devoted to Eryk's own work as a poster-maker, and is an apt reminder of the pivotal role he played as one of the fathers of the Polish School of Poster Art. Zuzanna, an illustrator, designer and poster-maker in her own right, extended her father's Albums, by adding examples of work by cartoonists of her own generation, thus creating an extensive and fascinating collection spanning more then 50 years. This exhibition is a testament to a close personal relationship, which reflects a mutual inspiration and an intimate exchange between not just a father and daughter, but two artists a generation apart.
