The emotions of the World Cup in Germany are just begining but we can already feel the atmoshphere of the Championship in the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw, at 11 Kozia Street, where on the 1st of April we are opening the exhibition - the 5th Salon of Polish Caricature, and the title of the exhibition this year is "Come on Poland! " (Polska gola!)
The best Polish cartoonists and caricaturists decided to inspire our footballers to victory in the World Cup. The exhibition has been organised by SPAK (The Association of Polish Caricaturists), sponsored by the Polish Football Association. You can see all things football presented in a satirical and jokey way. There are caricatures of the leading Polish footballers and coaches and lots of satirical cartoons depicting all sorts of amuzing situations happening on the football pitch itself and outside the football stadium. The best Polish cartoonists such as Mleczko, Sawka, Raczkowski and their colleagues took up with relish the subject of football. The catalogue of the exhibition is available at the museum.
visitors will be asked to vote for the best drawing during the duration of the exhibition and at the end there will be a draw, first and only prize being the original drawing of the winning artist with an autograph. On the 1st of April at 11am the Eryk Lipiński Award will be presented for special achievement in the field of Caricature. The exhibition will last till 7th of May 2006.
