(1959 - 1967)
Graduated from the Cracow Academy of Art in 1938. Prisoner of German camps during the war. Studied painting in Paris. Returned to Poland in 1946 and started to teach Art, first in the Secondary Art School and later on as professor at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. Worked as painter (oil technique) and mural painter. Also worked as book desinger and illustrator. Made his debut as caricaturist in the weekly Życie Literackie and continued contributing to that magazine with his weekly series 'From the other side of the Vistula river' (Z tamtej strony Wisły).
