Studied graphics at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and History of Art at the Warsaw University. Graphic designer, cartoonist, book illustrator, tv and theatre stage designer, author of animated films. Worked also as esseist, journalist and art promotor, author of more than 20 books, radio and tv programmes. Made his debut as caricaturist in 1945. Contributed to numerous magazines in Poland and abraod, among others Szpilki, Przekrój, Kulisy, Kultura, Tygodnik Solidarność, Punch, Graphis, Nebelspalter, Pardon. In 1957-1990 his cartoon was published weekly on the first page of Polityka, as an integral part of the magazine's title. Awarded many prizes, among others in Bordighera, Montreal, Skopje, awarded four times the Bronze Pin (brązowa szpilka) and in 1983, the Gold Pin with Laurel (złota szpilka z wawrzynem). Batchelor of the Medal of Smile (Kawaler Orderu Uśmiechu).
