CHILDLESS
WITOLD WOJTKIEWICZ
(1879 - 1909)

Born in Warsaw. Studied art in Cracow and in Paris. Died young. Considered by many, as the most distinguished Polish painter, not only of his time. Great individuality, both in the form as in subjects of his works. Worked as caricaturist - his works are characterised by peculiar expression, grotesque and scary atmosphere. Connected with Zielony Balonik (Green Baloon) - published his drawings in Czarny Kot (Black Cat), Liberum Veto and an ephemeric magazine, (published around the time of 1905 revolution) Hrabia Wojtek.
