HENRYK PILLATI
(1832-1894)

Born in Warsaw. Studied at Warsaw Art School. Later on, continued studying art in Munich, Paris and in Italy. Painter, drawing artist, illustrator and caricaturist. Since 1860 devoted himself to book and magazine illustration, contributing among others to such books and magazines as: Wolne Żarty, Tygodnik Ilustrowany", Kłosy, Wędrowiec, Biesiada Literacka, representing actual events and social situations.
