JAKUB SOKOŁOWSKI
(1784 - 1837)

Painter, caricaturist, illusttratorr, actor and writer. Influenced by Aleksander Orłowski, hence the 18th century look of his portraits and caricatures. Illustrated Sylwan - the first magazine devoted to nature, also illustrated humoristic books, among others Pustelnik z Krakowskiego Przedmieścia, czyli charakter ludzi i obyczajów (Warszawa, 1818).
